Weekenders
For over two decades, Horizons for the Blind has sponsored Weekenders, an outreach social group for EVERYONE.
Each month, the Weekenders travel throughout the Chicagoland area in search of good food, fun, festivals, nightlife and more! Weekenders is open to everyone. Call 815-444-8800, extension 4, for more information. If you wish to attend, annual membership is only $10.

Weekenders August Event | Outing to Lincoln Park Zoo| Lincoln Park Zoo, 2400 N. Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL 60614| Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM
We will be having a guided accessible tour of the Lincoln Park Zoo. The tour starts at 10:00 and lasts 90 minutes. After the tour, we will be eating at Cafe Brauer at 2021 N Stockton. Schedule your pickup ride for this address. Let us know if you need a sighted guide or if you can bring a sighted guide to assist. If needed, the zoo can provide a sighted guide or guides.

Weekenders September Event | White Sox Game | Rate Field, 333 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60616 | Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 2:10 PM
Chicago White Sox vs Colorado Rockies. Accessible seating is available as well as headsets to hear the play by play. We are working out the details of ticketing. We need 15 to get the group rate, so please respond ASAP and invite friends and/or family.
