Weekenders
For over two decades, Horizons for the Blind has sponsored Weekenders, an outreach social group for EVERYONE.
Each month, the Weekenders travel throughout the Chicagoland area in search of good food, fun, festivals, nightlife and more! Weekenders is open to everyone. Call 815-444-8800, extension 4, for more information. If you wish to attend, annual membership is only $10.

Weekenders September Event | I’m only Blind Showing | Pickwick Theater, 5 South Prospect Avenue, Park Ridge Illinois | Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2 PM
Our September event is unique, in that it features one of us. I’m only Blind is a documentary starring our president, Tim Paul. The documentary lasts about an hour. We hope to find a restaurant that is close to the theater and reasonably priced.
Cost: $10 for Members, $15 for Non-Members

Come join us for some Fall Fun!! Pizza, wagon ride & campfire! Join us at Horizons for the Blind for some pizza! Cheese, pepperoni and sausage pizza will be provided, and drinks & snacks can be purchased through their vending machines. Then, we will head to Sterne’s Woods & Fen for the Wagon Ride & Campfire! This event starts promptly at 2:00. There are only 20 spots available, RSVP ASAP to reserve your spot.
Cost: $20 for Members $25 for Non-Members

Weekenders November Event | General Meeting and Lunch | La Villa Restaurant, 3638 N Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60641 | Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 12 PM
Join us for our Semi-Annual General Meeting. Lunch will be ordered off the menu and everyone is responsible for their own checks. We will play Bingo if time allows
