Do you enjoy meeting friends for dinner at a new restaurant, taking in a live theater performance, a concert or maybe visiting one of the many area attractions and events the greater Chicagoland area has to offer? For over two decades, Horizons for the Blind has sponsored the Weekenders, an outreach social group for people who are blind, visually impaired and sighted.

Each month, the Weekenders travel throughout the Chicagoland area in search of good food, fun, interesting places to go and things to do. Weekenders is open to the public, it’s a great place to meet old friends and make new ones. You may come to any of the events. To join, call 815-444-8800 for more information. Dues for The Weekenders are $10 a year. Information about our monthly events will be posted here, or by calling our telephone information line, 815-444-8800, ext 4. Non-members may attend Weekenders events, but will pay a $5 fee per event.

Past events include Arlington International Racecourse, Kane County Cougars baseball games and our annual Weekenders picnic.
