meet others needs, not because we have needs.”

Why donate to Horizons for the Blind?
At Horizons, we believe that the 21.2 million blind and visually impaired people in the U.S. have the right to fully experience life with equal access to consumer information, printed materials and cultural and social events. Since our inception, we have continued to expand our range of products and services to meet the ever-changing needs of people who are blind or visually impaired.
As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, financial contributions are critical to the continued growth and success of our organization. With your help, we can continue to grow and to provide employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired.
Where do your donations go?
In these difficult economic times, it’s especially important to know that all of your donation dollars go directly to program services and equipment. For example, grants and donations were used when we launched our exciting website, Directionsforme.org, an innovative new concept which provides a quality source of packaging information and preparation instructions, for most common grocery, health and beauty products, in an accessible format.
In addition, your donations are used to purchase and maintain office equipment, computers and printing software and equipment needed for our transcription services, transportation for our employees and other critical needs. Of course, you can also direct your donation to one specific area.
How can you donate?
