Who doesn’t enjoy meeting friends for dinner at a new restaurant, taking in a live theater performance, a concert or maybe visiting one of the many area attractions and events the greater Chicagoland area has to offer? For over two decades, Horizons for the Blind has sponsored the Weekenders, an outreach social group for people who are blind and visually impaired.

Each month, the Weekenders travel throughout the Chicagoland area in search of good food, fun, interesting places to go and things to do. Open to the public, it’s a great place to meet old friends and make new ones. To join, Call 815-444-8800 or 800-318-2000 and press 227 to ask about joining. Dues for The Weekenders are $10 a year. .Please note the following information is also available by calling our telephone information line, 815-444-8800, ext 4.

I want to thank Charlotte Dillon, and Debbie Watson for their service on the board. We will miss them.
